Last week, I threw a surprise birthday party for my dear sister. We had ton of food as you can see below. Check out the whole table of food.
We had pathai, shrimp chips, shrimp and sausage sticky rice, lomein, summer rolls, and others dishes.
My sister-in-law made this beautiful fruit dish. It was so colorful and pretty.
We also had bbq chicken. I just learned this recipe from sis, EL. We had some Korean chicken on the grill. I had to take a picture before they all gone.
Check out the finished product below. Aren't they amazing? Just look at the color. They were all gone and people kept asking for more. They said the Korean chicken legs were awesome. Thank you again sis, EL. :-)
Deep fried shrimps with Cajun flavor.
This was another hot dish at the party, Kalbi (Korean BBQ Beef short Ribs). I found this recipe on foodnetwork.com . My niece and I marinated the night before. They were so amazingly delicious!!! We had the BEST time marinated this dish. Below is the recipe.

Shrimp chips.
Chicken Lo mein .
Check out some of the dishes.
Cha.o to^m (shrimp and sugar cane rolls) and nem nu*o*'ng (Vietnnamese grilled pork patty rolls).
French bread. This was for the beef stew dish.
Totilla and Mango salsa . This was yummy as well.
Fruits ice tea . This was a crowd-pleaser.
Vietnamese beef stew .
My niece made this mini-hotdog buns . The kids loved them.
And last but not least, our semi home-made cheese cake . My niece did the decoration. Overall, it was a great party. My sister had a great time, and she was SO SURPRISE you would not believe :-)

Nathan,
ReplyDeleteBelow is the recipe for Korean BBQ drumsticks.
Ingredients:
4-5 lbs of chicken drumstick (try to buy the smaller size)
1 bowl of soy sauce (use rice bowl to measure)
1 bowl of sugar
tiny bit of sesame oil
1 scallion (cut into pieces)
1 onion (diced)
1 pinch of chicken flavor broth powder
1 pinch of pepper
a little bit of cooking wine or sake
Method:
1. Clean and wash the drumsticks.
2. Use a knife and slice a few times to the drumsticks (so the marinade would sink in more)
3. Add all ingredients above and marinade.
4. The marinade should be a little bit of sweet and salty
5. Marinade overnight
6. Pre-heat oven 450F
7. Turn down to 400-375F
8. Bake until golden
9. Flip the drumstick half way through
10. Serve with salad or bread
